Soda Vending Machine - Coca-Cola Gains Nearly 20% Profit in First Quarter, Strengthened by International Markets

Summary: International Markets Strengthen Coca-Cola's Sales

Strengthened soda sales in international markets, large soda maker Coca-Cola announced a nearly 20% profit climb in the first quarter, thanks to well-selling locales in India and Brazil.

However, what does this mean for an entrepreneur who is looking to invest in possible soda markets?

A Moneymaking Opportunity: Soda Vending Machines

Well, for that promising entrepreneur, who is looking for a remarkable moneymaking investment; they should consider a soda vending machine. For one, the rather lackluster year for soda sales last year, is starting to recover nicely for 2010.

Secondly, people are gravitating towards newer soda options. Since full-calorie soda is "under the critical eye," of consumers. People are now wanting to purchase lower-calorie, or no-sugar soda drinks.

For that reason, the soda market will increase in niche markets that deliver on lower-calorie, more healthy soda options. This can motivate sales at a soda vending machine; as soda consumers come back for what they want, more and more.

How Coca-Cola Gained on Profits

One reason Coca-Cola did so well in international markets was their investment power in those areas. It is said that in the first quarter, Coca-Cola garnered an additional 65,000 soda coolers in retail locations across the globe; especially in target areas such as India, China, and Brazil.

One other idea was to penetrate markets with lower overall soda consumption per capita. Places like Egypt, Africa and Morocco consume half of what Americans drink in soda volume per year.

In those areas, the volume for cases rose 10 percent over the previous three months.

The Numbers - 1Q Results, a Nearly 20% Increase

Ending on April 2nd, 2010, Coca-Cola earned a total of $1.61 billion dollars, which was $0.69 cents per share. This is up from the previous quarter earnings, which were $1.35 billion dollars, at $0.58 cents per share.

An Easing in Soda Sales, Domestically in North America

Overall, the volume for case shipments, which include soda and juice, fell only 2%, in the first quarter, for Coca-Cola. The volume for soda itself declined only 1%, which is an ease in decline from previous quarters.

Sales for the sector of uncarbonated beverages, like water, juice and tea, only declined 2%, in North America. That volume actually grew 8% globally

This general inclination towards the "up and up," is a credit towards the effort put forth by Coca-Cola's marketing and Super Bowl campaigns.

The sales for soda seem to be for the better, as a company such as Coca-Cola continues campaigns to improve on certain business soda niches, markets and locations.
