Baldry commented that Coca-Cola Enterprises had future goals for improving their sustainability, by aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of operations, 15%, by 2020. What Coca-Cola is Doing
What is being done by Coca-Cola to further this eco-conscious agenda? They have created initiatives that call for making the packaging for their bottles and cans to be lighter in plastic weight, and to use additional recyclable content. And a recent recycling effort by Coca-Cola should help. This effort was launched in 55 cities, and other large sporting and music events. Coca-Cola has also shown a marked interest in HFC-free refrigeration technology, and hybrid semi-trucks to transport their items. Baldry also commented on the confusion around recycling practices. Baldry wants to promote advocacy for consistent recycling guidelines, to remove confusion on the subject of recycling. Coca-Cola also has put forth a sustainability plan to replenish the water used in daily operations.
